Catch Zaps That Fail Silently with Doyouok for Zapier
Zapier is great at running jobs every night while you sleep. It is less great at telling you when one of those jobs quietly did nothing.
Two things go wrong with scheduled Zaps. Sometimes the Zap doesn't run at all: it was turned off, it ran out of tasks, or a step failed and stopped the run. And sometimes it runs perfectly and still gets it wrong: the import imported 0 rows, the sync found nothing to sync. Zapier shows that second kind as a successful run, so nobody notices for days.
The Doyouok integration for Zapier catches both. It is free and takes one step at the end of your Zap.
Accept the invitation to Doyouok for Zapier

Set up in three steps
- Add the integration. It is invite-only for now: sign in to Zapier and open the invitation link above. Then search for "Doyouok" in any action step.
- Connect your account. Sign in to Doyouok (the Free plan is enough), open Profile > API tokens, name the token "Zapier" and press Create token. In Zapier, add the Report Run action, press Sign in and paste the token into API Token.
- Add Report Run as the last step of the Zap, after the steps that do the work. Test the step and publish the Zap.
That's it. There is no ping URL to copy and no check to create by hand. With Check set to A check by name (created on the first run), the first report creates a check with your Check Name, and later runs report to it. The first report can take up to 20 seconds while the new check is activated; later runs don't wait.
Tell it what success looks like
- Expected Interval (Minutes): how often the Zap runs, for example 60 for hourly or 1440 for daily. If no report arrives in time, you get an overdue alert.
- Result: Success or Failure. To decide by a condition, map a value from an earlier step:
success,true,ok,yesor1reports a success;fail,false,error,failed,noor0reports a failure. Or use Paths with a fixed Result on each path. - Failure Reason: optional text shown in the alert, such as "0 rows imported".
The simplest pattern for a nightly import is a Filter before Report Run that only continues when the imported count is greater than 0. A night with 120 new rows is reported as healthy. A night that imports 0 rows stops at the Filter, no report arrives, and Doyouok alerts you that the run is overdue: the same morning, not next week.
Alerts that say what went wrong
Each alert names the check and, for a failure, includes your Failure Reason. Alerts go to email, and to Telegram, Slack or Discord if you connected them in Doyouok.
Want to know the moment a Zap errors instead of waiting for the overdue alert? Create a second Zap with Zapier Manager's New Zap Error trigger and a Report Run step with the same Check Name and Expected Interval and Result set to Failure. Both Zaps report to the same check.
Only the result leaves your Zap
The integration sends the Check Name, the expected interval, whether the run succeeded and, on a failure, your Failure Reason. The rest of your Zap's data stays in Zapier. You can revoke access at any time under Profile > API tokens.
Free for your first 5 Zaps
The integration itself is free; on the Zapier side, Report Run counts as one task per run. Each monitored Zap uses one check from your Doyouok plan, and the Free plan includes 5 checks with no credit card. Bigger plans are on the pricing page.
