Expiry Reminders Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
Acceptance of Terms
Expiry Reminders (the "Add-on") is a Google Sheets add-on published by GCESoftware Pty Ltd, the operator of Doyouok (doyouok.com) ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the Add-on, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not install or use the Add-on.
If you also use the Doyouok website, for example to connect Telegram, Slack or Discord or to subscribe to a paid plan, that use is also subject to the Doyouok Terms of Service. If the two conflict on a matter about the Add-on, these Terms apply.
What the Add-on Does
The Add-on reads the expiry dates in the Google Sheets spreadsheet you use it with and, once a day, sends reminder emails from your own Google account to the recipients you choose before those dates arrive. It can also send the same reminders to Telegram, Slack or Discord through Doyouok, and alert you if the daily run stops or fails.
The Add-on is an organizing and reminder tool only. It does not check or renew anything for you, and it does not know the official renewal rules, deadlines or fees of the documents, licences, contracts or other items you track.
Accounts
You need a Google account to use the Add-on. When you turn on reminders, a free Doyouok account is created for, and linked to, the email address of your Google account. You are responsible for all activity under your Google and Doyouok accounts, and you agree to notify us immediately if you discover unauthorized use of your account.
Plans and Limits
The Free plan includes every feature of the Add-on and up to 100 reminded items per calendar year. Paid plans with higher limits are listed on the pricing page. How items are counted is explained on the help page. If you go over your plan's limit, the Add-on shows notices asking you to upgrade.
For now, reminders are still sent for items over your plan's limit. This is temporary: in future, once your plan's limit is reached, reminders for further items will not be sent until you upgrade or the next calendar year begins. We may change plan limits from time to time and will publish any changes on the website.
Billing, Price Changes, and Cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle until you cancel.
We may change the price of a plan from time to time. For an active subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice (at least 30 days) of any price increase; the new price will take effect from your next billing period, and continuing your subscription after that date means you accept the new price.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Billing Portal, accessible from your Doyouok dashboard. Cancellation stops future billing; your plan remains active until the end of the current paid period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. Except as required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law, payments already made are non-refundable, including for partial or unused billing periods.
Emails Sent from Your Google Account
Reminder emails are sent from your own Google account, using Google's email service, and count toward the daily sending limits Google applies to your account (for example, about 100 recipients a day for a free Gmail account). Sending them is also subject to Google's terms and policies. You are responsible for the recipients and content of these emails, including any message you add, and you agree to send reminders only to people who expect to receive them.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Add-on only for lawful purposes, and not to:
- Use it to send spam, unsolicited messages, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes the rights of others.
- Send requests to the Doyouok service other than through the normal use of the Add-on, or abuse it with malicious or excessive requests.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the Add-on or the Doyouok service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms, without prior notice.
No Guarantee of Reminders or Delivery
The Add-on will use reasonable efforts to send each reminder on time. However, you acknowledge and agree that we do not and cannot guarantee that:
- the daily run will happen on time or at all (Google runs daily timers loosely, and may delay, stop or disable them);
- a reminder will be sent, sent without delay, or successfully delivered (for example, emails may be filtered as spam or blocked by Google's sending limits); or
- a delivered reminder will actually be seen, opened, or acted upon.
You should not treat the Add-on as your sole safeguard for anything where a missed or late reminder could cause serious harm — see "Prohibited Critical Uses" below.
Prohibited Critical Uses
The Add-on is a general-purpose reminder tool and is not designed, intended, or fit for use as, or as a substitute for, any system where a failure, delay, or missed reminder could result in death, personal injury, or serious property, financial, or legal harm. You must not rely on the Add-on as your only reminder for, among other things:
- medical treatments, prescriptions, or medical device servicing;
- safety-critical inspections, certifications, or equipment servicing;
- insurance cover or legal residence, visa, or immigration status; or
- legal, tax, or regulatory compliance deadlines.
You are solely responsible for maintaining independent, appropriate safeguards for any critical deadline, and for assessing whether the Add-on is suitable for your use case.
Your Responsibility for Your Data and Settings
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the dates and other data in your spreadsheet and for configuring the Add-on correctly, including the tabs and columns it reads, the recipients, and the reminder schedule. We are not responsible for losses arising from incorrect or outdated data or settings, including but not limited to a wrong or unreadable expiry date, an incorrect or outdated recipient address, a renamed or deleted tab or column, removing the hidden "Expiry Reminders Log" tab, or reminders filtered into spam or blocked by your mail provider.
Third-Party Services
The Add-on relies on third-party systems we do not control, including Google (Sheets, Apps Script, Gmail and the Google Workspace Marketplace), Telegram, Slack and Discord if you connect them, Stripe (for billing), hosting and email providers, and the internet generally. Google may change or discontinue the services the Add-on depends on. We are not liable for any failure, interruption, delay, or data loss caused by the failure, change, or unavailability of any such third-party service.
Availability and Disclaimer
The Add-on is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties that the Add-on will be uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time, that errors or defects will be corrected, or that the Add-on is free of viruses or other harmful components. We also do not warrant that using the Add-on will meet your requirements.
This includes situations where a service outage, third-party failure, or your own data or settings prevent a reminder from being sent or delivered; to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses resulting from missed or late reminders in such circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where our services are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee under the ACL is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GCESoftware Pty Ltd, its operators, and personnel from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to: your breach of these Terms; your misuse of the Add-on; your violation of any law or third-party right; or the emails, data or settings you send or submit through the Add-on, to the extent caused by you.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill), even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Subject to the Australian Consumer Law protections described above, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Add-on will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) AUD $100, for claims by users on our Free plan or where no payment has been made.
Licence and Intellectual Property
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Add-on for your personal or internal business purposes, in accordance with these Terms. The Add-on, its code, design, text and logos are owned by us and protected by copyright law, and may not be copied, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
You retain ownership of your spreadsheet and all data in it ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to use, store, and process the parts of Your Content described in the Expiry Reminders Privacy Policy solely to provide and maintain the Add-on for you.
Termination
You may stop using the Add-on at any time: turn reminders off in Settings, then remove the Add-on in Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons. You can cancel a paid subscription as described under "Billing, Price Changes, and Cancellation".
We may suspend or terminate your access where we reasonably suspect a violation of these Terms, non-payment of amounts due, or activity that risks harm to the service, other users, or third parties, or if we discontinue the Add-on (in which case we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable). If we terminate a paid account for a reason other than your breach of these Terms, we will refund the unused, prepaid portion of your current billing period on a pro-rata basis.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland (QLD), Australia. Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland for any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Add-on.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page along with an updated "last updated" date; continuing to use the Add-on means you accept the updated terms.
