What is Doyouok?

Doyouok is a "dead man's switch" style process monitoring tool. You create a Check for a process that needs to keep running (a scheduled job, an event-triggered process, a background task, etc.), and request a dedicated Ping URL every time it runs successfully or the event occurs. If no check-in arrives within your configured interval, we alert you immediately — so a silently failing process never slips through.

What are the limits of the Free plan?

What happens when a Check times out, and how soon will I be alerted?

Accepted Answer

The system scans all Checks every 10 seconds. As soon as a Check has missed its configured interval, we start sending escalating reminder alerts — a first reminder, then a last reminder, at most 2 per incident. As soon as the task resumes sending check-ins, the reminder count resets immediately.

What alert channels are supported?

We support multiple alert channels beyond email — Webhook, Telegram, Slack, and Discord — configurable per account on the notification settings page.

How do I choose between heartbeat mode and task mode?

If you only care whether a task ran on time, use heartbeat mode — send a check-in once when the task finishes. If you also want to know how long each run took, use task mode and send a check-in at both the start and end of the task; we'll record a duration log for every run. See the

What if my Ping URL leaks?

You can rotate a Check's Ping URL at any time from the dashboard: the old URL is invalidated immediately, and there's no need to recreate the Check.

How do I sign in — do I need to register a separate account?

Doyouok uses Google Sign-In, so there's no separate registration or password to remember.

Question 8

How do I upgrade to the Pro or Agency plan?

Accepted Answer

You can upgrade to Pro or Agency directly from the dashboard — payment is handled securely through Stripe's hosted checkout, and the new plan takes effect immediately. Cancellations, downgrades, and invoices are managed through the Stripe Billing Portal, also linked from the dashboard.

Is there a grace period before I get alerted, and do you retry?

Accepted Answer

There's no grace buffer — the first alert fires as soon as your check-in interval elapses. If the check is still down, one final reminder goes out at 2x the interval, and you'll get an automatic recovery notification the moment it checks in again.

Question 10

Do you support maintenance windows or acknowledging an alert?

Accepted Answer

Not yet — pausing alerts for planned maintenance and acknowledging an active alert are on our roadmap. In the meantime, disable a Check from the dashboard before maintenance and re-enable it afterward to avoid a false alert.
