Ask the assistant
Hi! Ask me anything about the Doyouok connector for Power Automate: the API token, Report a run, reporting by email, failures, alerts or plans.
Choose email or the connector
- Email works with any license: "Send an email (V2)" of Office 365 Outlook (work accounts) or Outlook.com (personal accounts) is a Standard connector. Create the check on doyouok.com first. Email usually arrives within seconds but can take minutes.
- The Doyouok connector is Premium, like every certified third-party connector. The first run creates the check by name, reports arrive immediately and the failure reason has its own field.
- The connector is in certification by Microsoft. Until it is published, or without a Premium license, report runs by email as shown below.
Connect your Doyouok account
- Sign in to doyouok.com (the Free plan is enough) and open Profile > API tokens. Only the account owner can create tokens.
- Enter a token name such as "Power Automate", press "Create token" and copy the token. It starts with dyo_ and is shown only once.
- In Power Automate, add a new step, search for "Doyouok" and choose Report a run. When asked for a connection, paste the token into API token.
Monitor a flow with the connector
- Add Report a run as the last step of the flow, after the steps that do the work.
- Check name: type a name such as the flow's name. The first run creates the check and later runs with the same name report to it. Or open the advanced parameters and choose an Existing check; the check name and interval are then ignored.
- Expected interval (minutes): how often the flow runs, for example 60 for hourly or 1440 for daily. Doyouok alerts you when no report arrives within this time.
- Result: Success or Failure. A mapped value also works: success, true, ok, yes or 1 reports a success; fail, false, error, failed, no or 0 reports a failure. Failure reason is saved with a failure report and shown in the alert, for example 0 rows imported.
- To report a step that failed or timed out, add a second Report a run with Result Failure and the same check name, and use Configure run after so it runs only when the earlier step has failed or timed out.
- Save and run the flow. The first run of a new check takes up to about 20 seconds longer while the check is activated. The check then appears on your Doyouok dashboard.
Report runs by email (no Premium license)
- On doyouok.com, create a check with an interval a few minutes longer than the flow's schedule, then copy its ping URL, for example https://ping.doyouok.com/ping/<key>.
- At the end of the flow, add a Condition. In the yes branch, add Send an email (V2) to [email protected] with the subject success followed by the ping URL (or just the key at its end). In the no branch, send [email protected] an email with the subject fail followed by the ping URL, and the reason in the body.
- To report a step that failed or timed out, add a fail email and use Configure run after on it.
- The subject's first word sets the result, case-insensitive: success, ok, true, yes or 1 reports a success; fail, failed, error, false, no or 0 reports a failure. The failure reason is the first 2,000 characters of the body.
Example: a nightly import
- The flow runs every day at 02:00 with a Recurrence trigger. Step 2 imports new rows and returns how many it imported.
- Step 3 is Report a run: Check name "Nightly import", Expected interval 1440, and Result mapped to an expression that is true when the imported count is greater than 0. Failure reason: 0 rows imported.
- If rows were imported, the run is reported as successful. If the import ran but imported 0 rows, Doyouok alerts you with the reason. If the flow did not run at all, no report arrives and Doyouok alerts you that the run is overdue.
Frequently asked questions
The connector and email reporting are free. Each check uses one check from your Doyouok plan, and the Free plan includes 5 checks with no credit card. Starter includes 50 checks for $5/month. All plans are on the pricing page at doyouok.com/home/pricing. The connector itself needs a Power Automate Premium license; email reporting does not.
The connector is in certification by Microsoft and appears once it is published. Until then, report runs by email to [email protected] as described on this page.
Two kinds: a flow that does not run on schedule (it was turned off, its trigger stopped firing, or it stopped on an error before the last step), and a flow that runs but gives a wrong result, such as 0 rows imported. Power Automate's own failure emails don't cover a flow that stops being triggered, and they pause after an alert.
A new check is activated about 10 seconds after it is created, so the first report waits until Doyouok accepts it, up to about 20 seconds. Later runs don't wait.
The check name identifies the check, so a new name creates a new check on the next run. The old check stops receiving reports and alerts as missed; delete it in Doyouok if you no longer need it.
Checks created on doyouok.com and checks created by this connector. Checks created by other integrations are not listed.
The subject must contain the check's key or ping URL, and the key must belong to an existing check; otherwise the email bounces back to the sender. A new check accepts email about 10 seconds after it is created. Some organizations block email to external addresses.
A few minutes longer than the flow's schedule. Doyouok alerts as soon as the interval passes, and email can be delayed by minutes. Send one email per run: emails for the same check less than a second apart are counted as one.
Your Doyouok plan has no checks left for a new check. Delete checks you no longer need in Doyouok, or upgrade at doyouok.com/home/pricing.
The check's name and, for a failure, your failure reason. Alerts go to your email and to Telegram, Slack or Discord if you connected them on the Notifications page in Doyouok.
A check created by the connector takes its name and interval from Report a run, which updates them on every run. Change them in the flow.
The check name, the expected interval, whether the run succeeded, and on a failure your failure reason. Your flow's other data is not sent.
Each run makes two requests to Doyouok. The API allows 120 requests per minute per token.
Yes. In Doyouok open Profile > API tokens and press Revoke. Flows using that connection stop reporting and their checks alert as overdue until you remove the step or delete the checks.
